Feb 09 | April 09 | May 09 | July 09 | August 09 | May 10 | June 10 1:06 PM 27/02/2009 - Church, Yoga and Cold WeatherA.J. and I are going to the church on Sunday to meet with the Minister that will be doing our Wedding in June. I am looking forward to it. I haven't been to a church service in quite a while, and I am interested to see how they conduct there service at the United Church. In the meeting with the Minister after the service I think we are looking in more depth at what choices we have to make for the Wedding service. This shall be interesting... I have taken up Yoga as a relaxing activity to do after I finish my DDR dancing on weekdays. My usual routine is to come home, eat dinner, dance for around 45 mins then do yoga for about half an hour. I have only done the yoga a couple of days so far but I find it quite relaxing. I thought that my body would hurt the next day from stretching so much but there was no pain at all. I am hoping this will help me with my dancing by helping my legs cope with the rapid movement better (some of the songs on DDR Expert mode are very demanding on the leg muscles). Right now it is around -25 o C outside and a few inches of snow on the ground. It's the end of February! News anchors and meteorologists are already talking about Spring, so I am guessing that they have confidence that the snow will melt and temperatures will rise very soon. The temperature forecast does look pretty good in about a week's time - over the 0 o C mark. I can't wait for Spring to come. My hands are so dried up and peeling from this cold. I also cannot wait for Spring because I want to try cycling to work when the weather gets a bit warmer. To be able to cycle and not have to wait for buses and be so dependent on their "schedule" would be awesome. I put schedule in quotes because although the buses here have a schedule, they don't exactly stick to it. Oh yeah, that reminds me that I thought of a new slogan for the city's bus system: "ETS - It's faster than walking... possibly". In some cases it is much faster to walk actually, like how A.J. walks half way home every day from College. I hate ETS so much. 5:10 PM 07/02/2009 - A meeting, some software and video gamesWork has finally caught up and given me something to be constantly busy with while I'm in the office. I had quite a long period where I really did not have much to do because it took a while for the project to get kicked off. This of course means that when we do get the chance to start QA-ing the software, we have a lot of work on our hands and less time to do it in. I have not had to work any evenings or weekends yet but would not be surprised if I had to this weekend. I am considering coming in on the statutory holiday Family Day in Canada, and banking that day for later. We shall see! We have the Minister of a church coming to our apartment this week to discuss our wedding for the first time. I am excited but also nervous. I really do hate that we have to organise things for our wedding... it's going to be as minimal as you can possibly get of course. Weddings are just so commercial and not at all what they should be these days... or atleast from what I can tell. To me it should be more of an initimate thing that you share with close family and friends, not something that you spend a ridiculous amount of money on and plan for months and months, making sure that absolutely everything is perfect. A.J. got his hands on a copy of Adobe Flash CS4 Professional at College for under $150 Cdn! It's $700 on their website so that is quite a discount! Apparently as a student he gets to pick one piece of full Adobe software with a good discount. I think he made the right choice. I can't wait to start learning how to use it with him and then incorporating it into my site and other websites that I maintain. Talking of websites, I am going to be re-designing CreateNBuild.com soon hopefully, and am looking forward to it. I think it needs to be updated a lot! They delayed Sims 3 to June. It was going to be released this month. I am a little let down but really do not care that much because now I can play all of my Sims 2 games without wondering what it would be like if I was playing Sims 3. I finished playing Dragon Quest Swords recently and was quite impressed. I did not really want to get the game at first but when A.J. got me it for Christmas I picked it up and could not put it down. It's really very fun. Right now I am playing Tales of Legendia and Final Fantasy 4. Tales of Vesperia has similar graphics to Radiata Stories I find, but the gameplay and story etc are identical to the other Tales games of course. I find Final Fantasy 4 to be quite different from other RPGs that I have played. I like how it has maps that if you complete 100% you get a little prize - makes it quite interesting. |
